What Kova is
What is Kova? +
Kova is the persistent strategy layer for the agents you use. Declare your rules,
send a portfolio, and get a brief that measures alignment and explains the gaps.
Web, MCP, API, and CLI surfaces all answer to the same saved strategy.
What is an Agentic Investor, and who is Kova for? +
An agentic investor manages their own capital and works through AI agents while
retaining ownership of the strategy and permissions. Kova works best when you have
executed orders, know the difference between a stock and an ETF, and bring your own
ideas. Technical-analysis expertise is not required.
See who Kova is for.
Is Kova financial advice? +
No. Kova mirrors your own logic. You define the strategy. It shows where your portfolio
stands and what moves would restore alignment. It doesn't predict markets or manage money.
It does not place trades or change the strategy to make an idea appear aligned.
How it works
What's a strategy? +
Your investment rules, written in plain language, saved and versioned. The anchor
for every evaluation. You write it once, refine it over time, and every brief measures
your portfolio against it.
What's a brief? +
The output of an evaluation. An alignment score, drift analysis, and concrete moves
to close the gap. Same format every time, so you can compare briefs over weeks or months.
What's an alignment score? +
A label-led readout of how closely your current holdings match
the strategy you wrote, supported by a 100-point value. It is not a performance
score, a market prediction, or a buy/sell signal. It is a drift signal. Each brief
uses a label: Strongly Aligned, Aligned, Partially Aligned, Drifting, or Off-Track,
so you can track discipline over time.
How do I get my portfolio into Kova? +
No broker connection required. Paste your holdings, upload a screenshot, CSV, or PDF,
forward a brokerage statement by email, or have an agent send the portfolio for you.
Kova normalizes what you send, prices the positions, and returns the result in the same
brief format every time.

Agents, CLI, API
Can I use Kova with ChatGPT, Claude, or other AI agents? +
Yes.
You can open Kova in ChatGPT (opens in a new tab),
connect directly to Claude.ai, or use the CLI and MCP server with
Claude Code, Cursor, Claude Desktop, and other MCP-compatible clients. Start with the
Agents guide.
If you want to build against Kova directly, see the
API docs.
An external agent may use other tools you separately authorize. Kova does not place trades or control those external permissions.
Can I use the CLI or API directly? +
Yes. Install the CLI with
brew install kovatools/kova/kova,
authenticate, and your agent can explore every command with kova --help.
The REST API is available for scripts and custom integrations.

Pricing & data
How does the 14-day trial work? +
- Choose monthly or annual billing.
- A card is required to start the 14-day trial.
- You are not charged until the trial ends.
- If you cancel before then, you will not be billed.
How much does Kova cost? +
Monthly and annual plans are available. Every plan starts with a 14-day trial.
See pricing.
What happens if billing lapses? +
App and agent access pause until billing is active again. Your strategies, portfolios,
and briefs are preserved. Nothing is deleted.
Is my data safe? +
We treat financial data as sensitive. Kova only uses the information needed to
evaluate your strategy and generate your brief. When you use Kova's AI workflows or
connect an external agent, the relevant strategy and holdings data may be processed by
those systems to return your result. You can also enable
Privacy Mode to mask portfolio details in the UI.
Read the
Privacy Policy
and
Terms of Service.
Why not a spreadsheet or ChatGPT? +
A spreadsheet stores data. A one-off AI chat can reason with you in the moment.
Neither gives you a persistent strategy, repeatable scoring, or continuity over time.
The full argument.
